HOW TO CHOOSE YOUR YOGA MAT

esterilla-yoga

Sooner or later, every yogi needs to change their mat.

But how do you choose a Yoga mat that perfectly suits your needs?

Here are 5 tips to find your perfect yoga mat!

1. WHERE DO YOU USUALLY PRACTISE YOGA?

Depending on the surface on which you practise, your mat will need to be made of one material or another to promote stability during the session and also durability.

For outdoor sessions, for example, we have the Lake Blue and Black Panther mats that can last for many years. They also have the right thickness for you to be comfortable in a Yoga class.

2. DO YOU FREQUENTLY MOVE YOUR MAT AROUND?

If you move it around a lot, you need to keep the mat’s weight in mind.

We have four slip-resistant mats that are 2 mm thick, created especially for being transported.

You can even fold these mats!

They are: Universe Karmandala, Green Karmandala, PinkIndia, GreenIndia

3. ARE YOUR JOINTS SENSITIVE?

If your joints are sensitive, you need a thicker mat to protect them.

We have a wide variety of mats that are 4 mm thick that will properly protect your body.

For example, cork mats: Sand Karmandala and Line Karmandala;

4 mm India mats in four colours, such as EsmerIndia, BrownIndia, PurpurIndia and BluIndia.

4. DO YOUR HANDS SWEAT A LOT?

The solution to this is a yoga mat with extra grip and a polyurethane surface.

We have 8 mats made of this material. Four 2 mm mats and four 4 mm ones.

Choose the one that suits you best in terms of your joints and the mat’s weight.

At naturyoga, 90% of our mats have lines to align and adjust the poses (asanas) you do during your practice.

This is very important in order to receive the full benefits.
